Whether in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, construction machinery, or agricultural applications – our cooled High-voltage cables ensure reliable power transmission even in tight spaces and under heavy loads.
With our many years of experience in series production for leading automotive manufacturers, Coroflex stands for proven quality and engineering expertise down to the smallest detail. Our cooled HV cables, for example, are up to 60 % lighter and about one-third smaller in diameter than conventional systems. Thanks to these advantages, our solutions save material, energy, and costs, and can be integrated into complex vehicle architectures in a particularly economical and space-saving way.

The higher the electrical power, the more complex the interaction between current, temperature, and available space becomes. In modern electric vehicles, our High-voltage cables reliably transmit high continuous currents in tight spaces, under varying ambient temperatures, and close to sensitive electronics. The combination of thermal stability, mechanical robustness, and precise system integration determines the overall system efficiency.
Our cooled High-voltage cables dissipate heat in a controlled manner and maintain constant operating temperatures – even at high current densities or in tight spaces. The cooling medium typically consists of a water-glycol mixture, operated at high pressure in the cooling circuit. It continuously flows through the cable, enabling effective heat removal even at ambient temperatures between - 40 °C and + 85 °C.
Our HV cables are pressure-resistant, vibration-resistant, and resistant to common cooling media – ensuring system performance even under demanding conditions.
Choosing copper or aluminum as the conductor material allows for an optimal balance between conductivity, weight, and cost. Shielded and unshielded variants meet a wide range of EMC requirements. Thanks to the modular design and a range of cross-sections from 35 to 200 mm², the cables can be precisely adapted to each vehicle architecture – from passenger cars and commercial vehicles to maritime applications and heavy construction machinery.
Active cooling allows for a significant reduction in conductor cross-section: for example, a 35 mm² cooled cable is directly comparable to a 170 mm² uncooled cable. Coroflex’s active cooling technology reduces weight, saves material, and creates room for more compact designs.
For particularly demanding environments, our optional ProTect protection system is available. The cables, additionally equipped with Coroplast wire harness tape and delivered as a ready-to-install complete system directly on the spool, offer thermal advantages compared to other protection systems.
