Coroplast Global | News First cable manufacturer for VDE mark approval according to EN 50620

Since 2017, the requirements for charging cables for electric vehicles have been specified throughout Europe in the new EN 50620 standard specially created for this purpose. Coroflex was the first manufacturer to receive certified approval from the VDE Testing and Certification Institute in accordance with this standard.

New European standard on charging cables for electric vehicles

The EN 50620 standard specifies the structures, dimensions and test requirements for halogen-free, flame-retardant cables with extruded insulation and sheath, designed for rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V and intended for flexible, heavy-duty use between the mains or the charging station and the vehicle.

The early approval as Europe-wide manufacturer of type H07BZ5-F charging cables underlines our proven industry expertise and market orientation. Our cables meet all specifications prescribed by the EN 50620 standard.

The cables are available in cross-sections of 1.5 to 6 mm² for AC charging and also as spiral cables.
